6 Drones Doing Something Good

Rain seeders. The technique of causing small precipitations localized by sowing silver iodide particles among the clouds, which act as condensation nuclei, has been practiced for some years through small planes. But since the cloud seeking has scientific validity (on the subject still being discussed), the task can also be delegated to autonomous aircraft. Researchers at the Desert Research Institute in Nevada are working on this project to carry out local climate research. For now, used drones fly too low to change the climate, but in the future they could be used to combat drought on some particularly dry areas.
